Adam Fuss

Born in 1961 England, British Photographer Adam Fuss grew up influenced by the arts. His mother and father were his two big influences, with his mother being an Australian fashion model and his father working at an manufacturing plant where they manufactured women's coats, the influence and inspiration for the arts was all around him. But tragedy struck in 1968 when his father died and from complications of stroke. After that, he lived with his mother for a couple years in Australia, before moving to New York City and finally settling there. But his photography career didn't start in New York but Australia, where he was an apprentice for a photography firm called Ogilvy & Mather Agency. In New York City he worked a series of odd jobs, while at the same time, started a series of pinhole camera images that somehow found their way into galleries, which kick started his career.

Image result for adam fussAdam Fuss has embraced a broad spectrum of historical and contemporary photography, and is well known for his ability to take pictures of any uncanny subject, while at the same time, putting emphasis not on the individual but on the composition of the photograph. An example of Adam Fusses unusual subject matter and composition style would have to be from his many pictures of babies on their stomach in water, with the paper having an orange hue and the detail of the ripples of the water potent in the picture. These pictures depict what art critics often describe as capturing a moment in time and just lets he stay suspended in that time. Along with being admired by critics Fuss is also an accomplished writer, with multiple publications, and has won multiple awards for his work, as well as his pieces being exhibited in major publications.

My final thoughts on Adam Fuss is, that he is a talented artistic individual and that the way he had and the fact that these pictures are done not by cameras, but by a contemporary re-interpretation of old techniques they used to use to get photographs makes it even better.
not only the ability but the capability to find his own way of taking an image and producing that image in a unique on nuanced way. One of the pieces of his that I enjoyed the most would have to be the one where it looks like a snake moving in water, and you can see the ripple of water coming off the snakes slender body, as it moves it back and forth. For me, the picture just captures the stillness of life
